LIGHTING DESIGN.
Light is a crucial element, in any setting. considering the intention of lighting; it permits you to direct attention and direct the focus of your subject.
Moods can be associated with colors, this is an elementary principal we’re all familiar with. Lighting design gives a chance to convey a heavy artistic direction. The range of luminosity, the spectrum of color; there’s so much to explore. In culmination with sounds and visuals, lighting will help convey a message in ways that haven’t been reached before.
THE PROCESS
When approaching a project, first the story within it must be found. There’s an underlying theme that has to be represented and used as the foundation for each decision in the process. After getting a general grasp of what the project represents, I’ll decider if it feels it should be conveyed in a more interpretive or immersive setting.
THE RESULT.
This is a very similar approach as to the one I use when designing sound, and believe it justifies a level of respect for the piece. My experience includes a series of different fields: ranging from theatrical productions, live music performances, photography sessions, and minor film productions. I’ve learned from these different venues the power lighting holds, and the voice it carries.
