GRAPHIC DESIGN

INFLUENCES.
The beauty & irony of classic pulp Americana advertising is my main source of inspiration. I’m humored by the perfected images of “American values” that used to tell us what to buy and why we need it. Today, we see through the charade of materialism of yesterday’s advertising. back then, They told us we needed to buy a product to matter, but now we’re the product being sold.
And yet, beyond the irony of it all, there’s something about the aesthetic to be appreciated. Colors pop to grab your attention, people look unreal, and B I G selective phrasing directs you where to look. Using the past for an inspiration and using the future as my navigation, the final product is the result of standing in the present and looking in both directions.
CLIENT BASE.
Designing flyers and promotional material for musicians is a bulk of my experience. It’s an opportunity to reflect the artist through the perspective of what the audience anticipates. Usually I approach anything regarding music with the mindset of a promoter; dissecting the elements I may not be familiar with, and emphasizing the strengths of the artist/album I am working with.
This is the world I come from as a graphic designer, however, there’s other mediums of art I’d love to promote. Even if you’re not in the music industry, I’d love to explore how we can work together for your project.
